Crisis Control Management for the Food Industry
Australian imported Foods face sever crippling challengers in the not to distant future. So crisis management systems are being implemented into management of Food companies.
Already we now see consultants specializing in this field being introduced to the foods industry. Challenges will a rise ,First from third world countries low food and health standards and secondly from Industrial chemists manufacturing western foods especially from USA companies. We are aware that third world countries are processing foods to a low standard.
While importers state the factories are world class they are not managed by professionals as we have in Australia.
On top of this we have food processors working for few dollars a day and would not speak up if they see improper actions by the managers, as example melamine poisoning in china.
We for see problems in the future with our imported foods so it is best to familiarize yourself as to how these companies will handle a food crisis by studying how they reacted to a crisis in the past.
Study how many years it took for melamine contamination or Mad Cow Disease to be bought to the public attention.
In most cases it took YEARS before we were fully informed.
The new challengers to the food industry will be introduction of new technology to increase food production or expand shelf life of a product.
Already flu vaccines are altered in that they do not need refrigeration, this is ideal for third world countries as refrigeration has been a problem to keep vaccines alive.
This technology will now be used to so called improve our foods so that they stay fresher longer and LOOK eatable.
So when a problem arises, and this has to happen as demand in next few years will make companies take risks with our health to fulfil unlimited food orders and huge profits. SO KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN as the old wise saying goes!
If sales pitch is advertised heavily to promote NEW food additive or product, treat it like you would a snake oil advertisement.
Check any new food product that is launches as a saviour to our food needs.
Don’t trust agencies, government or private companies who promote or stand by new food products.
Treat a new agency as if it were a front for the company selling this new food.
If it is established private company, treat as if it has been heavily paid cash to promote a product
If established government agency promotes new foods, treat it as if it means we are past crises point and food shortage will be in the government’s national interest.
Remember w e are at midnight now ,2010 and the food crises is only starting to take place and each year follow how food prices increase and more imported foods flood our supermarkets.
In a few years imported foods will rapidly increase in price and we will not have farmers to supply produce if we don’t support them now.
To be informed is to be warned!.
