Farm Fresh Auctions
The founder of Farm Fresh Auctions Mr Wayne Sedawie has had a rural background from his parents property in Lilydale , to jackerooing in Victoria to graduating from Glenormiston agricultural college in 1974.
In the last few years his companies have operated successful internet auction sites.
Over the last few decades he has seen the shift towards large scale farms and Supermarket Monopoly of the fresh food industry.
As a farmer he believes supermarkets of today do not know what fresh means. To Supermarkets the word Fresh is a catchy advertising jingle to bring in customers.
Australians today do not get the opportunity to deal direct with our farmers. He understands the old traditional money box outside a farm with fresh fruits n vegs stacked high and a small money box will never come back.
Today it is nearly impossible to buy direct from farmers. Even farmers cant buy direct from other farmers, so beef farmer doesn’t know how to contact fruit growers and vice versa.
Every decade he has noted the monopoly supermarket or trade buyers or outlets for the farmers are less and now buyers are larger and place large orders and many times at low return for the farmer. Reports show Australia now has one of the highest grocery price increases over 10 years compared to most developed countries’ aussies over 40 % Usa over 28 % and Japan 1%. So farmers do not have as many markets and have less control over their products and buyers do not access to fresh foods.
But now with efficient transport companies, products can get to your house in fresh condition and an internet system that is also efficient that can bring farmers and customers together, that is Farm Fresh Auctions.
His goal to help change Aussies buying of fresh products by providing his internet system so everyone can contact each other on the net. His vision is to help change peoples attitude to healthy fresh lifestyle, as example in a conversation a family might make the following statement:
"We buy our fruit from the local supermarket"
To
"We buy our fruit direct from a farmer"
And then to
"We buy our oranges direct from Jim n Mary and our rump steak direct from the Jones angus farm."
Food is very PERSONEL.
We put it in out mouth and gives us substance and energy. Bad food makes us sick or lethargic, so we should know from where our food comes from!
Aussies should Support local fresh food with high standards to imported foods and Enjoy the taste of fresh food. Many Aussies today do not know how good fresh food is!
Some fresh food in our supermarkets can be months or even years old in cold storage. Can you imagine the enjoyment of a family opening a delivery on their door step of fresh foods? Kids will smell the freshness of fresh food for the first time ,maybe even smell that earth smell and the taste sensation of eating fresh fruit in season, it is indescribable and enjoyable and I am sure will change the eating habits and reduce obesity in our country.
Using his system will give aussies the opportunity to buy bargain fresh foods offered on No reserve Auctions to buying premium fresh food at fair price for the farmer.
He understands some families will want to buy bargain value lots and other families will pay premium for top quality products.
In practise a farmer in one region will have product only for a set time so his system will allow farmers to log in and off when product is in season. Most farmers do strive for high quality but sometimes crops can be effected by hail or storms and it would be good if buyers could help support farmers when times are tough for them.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
Framers and growers are first verified to sell on FFA and have to agree to our high standards and customer service.
To be a seller
You have to be in the fresh food industry as person or company and offer quality and service for business aimed at repeat buyers.
Buy It Now
Produce is listed as Buy It Now in carton lots or mixed carton lots of 5-10-20 kilos
Buy It Now, is simply you agree to buy the goods and automatically go to payment gateway and pay for the products plus shipping.
You can pay via direct deposit on internet banking
Farmer will send confirmation of order and you will be advised of shipment despatch date
No Reserve Auctions are fun and we will start on auctions finishing on Sunday night
NR$1 auctions are popular as you can buy a bargain box or pay premium for quality produce
Feedback once delivery has been received the buyer will leave feedback for the farmer and this helps their position in our system.
Having operated wholesale businesses all his life he says farmers will be Shocked by the feedback they will receive
Farmers have to sell volume to survive with these monopoly supermarkets and negotiations are usually one sided
Imaging a farmer reading feedback that his product bought joy to a family as they state that it is the best they have ever eaten!
So it is obvious farmers will supply families direct with their best product and send their average quality to supermarkets, wouldn’t you do the same?
Who Will The Buyers Be?
You!
Today we have many changes happening in our lifestyle and attitudes.
Environmental issues, carbon foot print, health issues etc
